PV Energy
Sponsered by Solar Century
The brief is to design a piece of web-based communication to promote using electricity from the sun. My goal is to create a 'fake' documentary about a young adult (18-24) who currently uses PV energy in his flat in London. Obviously it will be engaging and humorous but not in a derogatory way towards the product I am promoting. The short film will contain relevant information and facts that will be useful to the viewer conveyed in a stealthy manner via the interviewer asking the young adult questions through-out the short. The finished 'mockumentory' will be housed on a website where it can easily be accessed by millions of people where the more serious facts and figures can be found. I also plan to have the finished short uploaded onto youtube in order to act as a viral/advert for the website.
The style of filming that I think would be appropriate for this project is something along the lines of the 1999 BBC 2 tv show called 'People like us" starring Chris Langham who plays a hopeless interviewer that spends a day with a different member of society each episode, e.g the police officer/ the actor/ the estate agent/ the photographer.
Here are some examples from the show.
I have already found someone to play the main character of the film and the location will be in my flat in East London.
